How is the jewellery made?

Ortak designs and makes all the master patterns of our jewellery. Moulds are then made of each master pattern from which each piece is cast. All the jewellery is made from sterling silver, or can be made in gold or any other metal to order. Semi-precious gemstones are also incorporated into many of our pieces or vitreous enamel.

How should I care for my jewellery?
  • There are a few simple things you can do to take care of your Ortak Jewellery:
  • Avoid wearing neck wires to bed as this can cause irreparable damage.
  • When your jewellery isn’t being worn, place it in a zip seal bag to prevent tarnishing of the silver, which can happen when it is exposed to the air and its pollutants.
  • Try to avoid contact with perfume, moisturisers and sun cream, as some chemicals can react with silver.
  • Clean with a silver polishing cloth.
Are all of your materials ethically sourced?

We’re committed to protecting the environment and ensuring our supply chain is ethical at every stage.

We use recycled gold and silver to reduce the environmental impact from mining. All of our stones are the genuine article too and responsibly sourced.

We're doing all we can to cut single use plastics and to reduce waste in our packaging. Orders are sent in recyclable cardboard boxes.
