CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY POLICY
Ortak Limited is a jewellery manufacturing and distribution business which has been established for over eight years. It is a company which stands proud on its traditional values and believes that providing a quality service is paramount. In addition the company fully recognises its ethical, environmental and social responsibilities.
Responsible sourcing of precious metals (gold, silver, platinum and palladium) is an important part of our commitment to ethical supply chains with the improvement of social and environmental impact as part of our company ethos.
Respect for human rights is one of the fundamental values of the company’s strategy. In particular we neither tolerate nor contribute to:
Any form of torture, cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment;
Any forms of forced or compulsory labour ;
Illegal or unacceptable forms of child labour;
Other human rights violations and abuses;
War crimes or other serious violations of international law.
We do not knowingly procure precious metals that originate from facilities in the conflict region that are not certified as conflict free. We ask our suppliers to undertake reasonable due diligence with their supply chains to assure that precious metals are being sourced from mines outside the conflict region.
We support measures to build secure, transparent, fair-trade and verifiable gold supply chains from mines to markets.
We never source from illegal mining operations.
We recognise that the role of public or private security forces at mining sites should be solely to maintain the rule of law and safeguarding human rights.
We would not have any involvement in any form of bribery, money laundering or fraudulent misrepresentation of the origin of precious metals.
We aim to establish long term relationships with precious metal suppliers and customers in order to build and support a responsible supply chain.
With regard to our own manufacturing operation and employees:
We do not tolerate any form of discrimination or any form of harassment on grounds of race, ethnic origin, gender, religion, handicap, age or sexual identity.
We do not tolerate any form of discrimination in the workplace in relation to hiring, remuneration, training, promotion, termination of employment or retirement.
